The holiday season is in full swing at Einspahr Auto Plaza.
If a used car is on your wish list, we invite you to stop in and pick out your present.
To help you find your gift, we put together a list for you too. Follow along with each step and treat yourself to a gift—you deserve it!
We know you’re doing a lot of shopping during the holidays. Allow us to make it easy for you with this list of five simple steps to finding your used car.
(Tip: A gift like this won’t fit under your tree. Sorry.)
1. Decide what you want.
Before you start shopping, have in mind a general idea of the vehicle you're looking for. Otherwise, you'll be overwhelmed by the options awaiting you online or on the lot.
There are several factors to keep in mind when deciding on Brookings used cars, including price, power, safety, fuel economy, and special features.
Perhaps the most important of these is price. A good rule of thumb is to never spend more than 20% of your take-home pay on your monthly car payment. So, before you fall in love with your dream vehicle, make sure you can actually afford it!
2. Do the research.
Once you know what features you're looking for, do some research on specific makes and models that meet your criteria. Consider high-volume cars, as you'll have more options in your area.
Look at our selection online for specific used cars that you want to check out. Contact us during this phase to ensure the vehicle is still available and request a test drive at your earliest convenience. If you don’t see what you are looking for, please use our car finder feature and we can do the work to find the right vehicle for you whether it is from our customer base, lease return, at a factory auction, or even from another dealer. This is something that we do frequently.
Before you come in, be sure you've looked into the value of the vehicle and research online reviews. It always best to prepare yourself with as much knowledge as possible. We take pride in the quality of our pre-owned vehicles. Every pre-owned vehicle on our lot has gone through a multi-point inspection and any items that need addressed are taken care of. In addition, all pre-owned vehicles on our pre-owned lot come with either factory warranty or our limited 50/50 powertrain coverage. So, you shouldn’t need to worry about any unforeseen issues.
3. Take a test drive.
Now that you've settled on a specific vehicle or two that you'd like to learn more about, it's time to come on in for your visit. Call ahead of time to arrange a test drive, or just stop by.
During your test drive, try to replicate your normal driving patterns and routes. This way you'll be able to get a feel for how the vehicle will operate on a day-to-day basis. Be sure to drive it in town, on the highway, and even on gravel roads if possible to see how well everything is holding up.
Your test drive can tell you a lot of important information about the used vehicle you're considering. Check the brakes, transmission, and all the controls to ensure everything is working properly. Don't be afraid to take your time and ask us any questions that come to mind!
4. Ask for records.
After running your own inspection of the vehicle, you’re welcome to ask us for our professional take on the vehicle.
We’ll also provide you with all the vehicle’s records, so you have the full history of the vehicle you’re buying.
5. Close the deal.
Think you've found the one? You're ready to seal the deal—and we can help!
Before signing the papers, don’t hesitate to read them over closely. Our finance staff can help answer any questions regarding the purchase order, finance contract, or any other documents needed to complete the deal. Be sure you're comfortable with your grand total--as well as any additional coverage--before you agree to it.
We offer a lot of options when it comes to arranging financing your vehicle. We are affiliated with nearly 20 different lenders which gives us options for everyone from those with perfect credit history, limited credit history, or those that have had some challenges. We’re willing to work with you to suit your budget. The first step is to fill out a credit application.
This might be the biggest purchase you make this year, so we encourage you to take your time.
