The automotive buzz lately has shifted from 2022 models to 2023 models. We’ve been doing research to learn more about what is coming for 2023 Ford vehicles. We’re sharing some of the most popular Fords in the Brookings area.

2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R(2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R)

n

First off, the 2022 F-150 Lightning arrived on our lot in early July. We’re super excited to be able to show this off to people and get a feel of what 2023 Ford trucks will be like and the future of electric vehicles from Ford.

n

America’s favorite truck experienced a major overhaul for the 2021 model year, so don’t expect a newly redesigned F-150 out for another few years. Major changes include the electric version and two new trim levels, the Rattler package and the Raptor R. The Raptor R offers a supercharged V8 engine, and additional off-road features that the original Raptor doesn’t have.

n

The 2023 F-150 is expected to start production in October 2022, with vehicles on our Brookings car lot by the end of the year. Pre-orders for the Raptor R started in July and will be in limited quantities. If the Ford Raptor R is on your radar, pre-order early!

2023 Ford Explorer

n

2023 Explorer will look similar to the 2022 explorer(2022 model year shown)

n

Since the Explorer received a complete overhaul for the 2020 model year, we don’t expect the 2023 Explorer to have significant improvements this time. Ford is rumored to add a larger touchscreen and use higher quality materials to give a more luxurious feel.

n

The Explorer will still have a hybrid option and quite a few trim levels to appeal to different price points and features. Ford’s CEO announced that Explorer would be the next EV. At this time it looks like it will most likely be released as a 2024 model year.

n

The 2023 Ford Explorer doesn’t have a solid release date but is expected to be released in fall 2022.

2023 Ford Edge

n

the 2023 Edge interior will be similar to the 2022 model shown(2022 Edge interior shown)

n

If you love your Ford Edge, we encourage you to upgrade model years as 2023 will be your last chance to own a new Edge. Ford Authority confirmed in January that the Lincoln Nautilus and Ford Edge will be canceled to make room for EV models at their assembly plant.

n

For the 2023 Edge, the front-wheel drive has been discontinued and several other features such as the keypad entry.

2023 Ford Super Duty

n

2023 Ford Super Duty will be different from the 2022 model shown(2022 Ford Super Duty shown)

n

The 2023 Super Duty is likely to bring a large number of feature updates, additions, and body style changes with its full redesign.

n

For base trim levels the grille is being simplified. The headlights will be similar, if not the same, as the recently redesigned F-150 LED lights.

n

Inside, many of the buttons and notifications will be on the center console screen. For base trim levels, it looks like the screen will be in landscape mode, while higher trim levels will see a larger portrait mode screen.

n

We’re looking forward to a full preview when Ford shares the redesign later this year.
