Wash Away the Winter

n

Like we said earlier, the winter brings  a lot of unwanted grime and salt on your vehicle. It is important to get your car’s exterior cleaned. The salt used on the roadway eats away at your vehicle’s paint, undercarriage, and brake lines.

n

n

The easiest way to clean off that salt is to get your vehicle cleaned at a full-service car wash, hat way the undercarriage is also properly cleaned. If you are looking to do it yourself, fill up a spray bottle with a 50/50 concoction of water and vinegar. Spray it on your undercarriage in spots that have excessive amounts of salt and grime.

Windshield Wipers

n

Are your wiper blades smearing your windshield? Before you throw them out and buy replacement blades, run a cloth with rubbing alcohol over them to remove any buildup and debris.

n

n

If the wipers are still not performing, it’s time for a new set. Nothing is more important than good visibility when you are driving. Heavy rains that usually happen during the spring time require quality wiper blades.

Floor Mats

n

Whether you have cloth or all-weather floor mats, they take a beating during the winter and spring months. If you have cloth floor mats, soak them in a mild detergent and let them air dry or spray a stain remover on them and then throw them in the wash!

n

n

All-weather floor mats can easily be rinsed off with the garden hose or wiped down with an auto care wipe. If that doesn’t get the job done, grab a couple of quarters and head to the car wash. They have power washers available and should be able to get rid of the grime on your mats!

Vents

n

For a quick touch up of your vents, a small foam art brush can be your best friend. Run the brush between the vent blades to remove any hard to reach dust. If you are looking for an even deeper clean, grab a can of compressed air, yes, the one to clean keyboards, and banish the remaining dust from your vents!

Headlights

n

Dingy headlights aren’t just a pain, they’re also dangerous! If you can’t see as well at night as you used to, it’s time to shine up your lights. A quick solution that you already have in your house is toothpaste.

n

n

Many toothpastes contain baking soda, which is known for its cleaning abilities. If your toothpaste does not contain baking soda, you can make a quick paste by mixing baking soda and toothpaste in a bowl. With a rag, rub your toothpaste/baking soda paste onto your headlights and then wipe off with a damp cloth. If that trick didn’t work, we have a few products that can get them crystal clear at Einspahr Auto Plaza!
